Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Maclaren is recalling one million strollers with a hinge that can cut a baby's fingertips, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Monday.
The CSPC advised consumers to stop using all Maclaren single and double umbrella strollers made in China until they get a free hinge cover and repair kit from the South Norwalk, Connecticut-based company.
The recall covers Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller models of strollers made since 1999.
The said strollers have caused 12 fingertip amputations in the U.S. because children touch the hinge mechanism while the product is being unfolded.
