Barcelona, Spain (AHN) - Spanish health researchers say there are alterations in the reward systems of the brains in people with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

Scientists with the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital aid they have identified anomalies in the brain's reward system related to the neural circuits of motivation and gratification.

They said that in children with ADHD, their motivation is related to how quickly their objectives are met.

The researchers said in a statement that this explains why their attention and hyperactivity levels differ depending on what they are doing, and that motivation levels in ADHD children can drop rapidly.
